I believe the Campus Police Department is an incredible resource. They have helped my friends and I through a very serious issue. It was their dedication and utmost respect that won us over. If you are ever in need of legal help, I recommend going to their department!

An amazing resource available on campus is the career center. It allows students to explore their career options, develop their professional skills, and gain access to available on campus jobs or internship opportunities. They provide mock interviews, sample resumes, and lots of other sources to prepare students. It is located on the second floor of the Student Union.

One of the resources that many friends and I have found useful and vital to our success in college is the academic success coaching provided through the TRC. They help students identify their strengths and weaknesses, then devise a personalized approach to studying. Academic Coaches can help with everything from organizing and managing your time better to overcoming challenges with long term writing projects to enhancing your presentation skills.

Another resource that I'd recommend for college success is the Open Textbook Library. This site also includes many ebooks for your disposal without having to spend any money. This is especially helpful for students on a budget.

The resource that I found very helpful for this year was Chegg.com. This resource helps students find, buy, and rent new or used textbooks for astronomically lower prices than what they are offered at the bookstore. Chegg also provides free online tutoring, as well as many other perks just by supplying them with your email address.

The resource I'd recommend is the JPL Library at UTSA. It is a comfortable study hall with friendly people there to help you with what you need. You can plop down and read a book or do your assignment alongside the comfort of others. There are even computers are your disposal.

One resource that I have found very helpful is your very own Peer Mentor. They are the number one source of information for almost anything on campus. If they do not have the answers to your question then they most certainly someone who does. Your peer mentor is there to help and always easy to contact in your AIS class.

Another resource that can be very useful is the Math Lab which can be found inside the Flawn room in room 1.01.05. If you are ever struggling with any math homework or find some concepts hard to understand, graduate students at the Math Lab can help guide you through any math course ranging from Algebra to Calculus I. The services provided by the Math Lab are completely free to all UTSA students.

One resource that I have personally found very helpful at UTSA is the Writing Center. The Writing Center will take any paper that you write and make sure give you tips on how to make it better and what to improve. If you are unsure about whether or not your paper is ready to turn in I highly recommend taking your paper here in order to make sure you get a good grade.

A great resource at UTSA is our Supplemental instructors (S.I). Those classes that have assigned supplemental leaders hold study sessions, usually at the JPL, that cover topics you are viewing in the class. It is also a great way to review and compare notes. Supplemental Instructors usually write down their information at the beginning of the year so you can sign up for emails that entail the study session dates and locations. It has helped me for many classes and is a very useful resource.

One of the best resources UTSA has to offer is your own professors! They're being paid to TEACH so take advantage of their office hours and keep in contact with them. Think about it this way: if they're good enough to be professors, they're good enough for resources/advice. It is crazy to see how different professors are when they aren't teaching their class. They can also help you get connections and meet people in your career. Like I said, great resource!

One great resource that I use to this day is scholar,google.com for academic writing. This source is just as great as the database at on lib.utsa.edu, but it gives you some options that our own database may not. I have used Google Scholar since high school and I still do to this day. It is the one resource that many people forget about, but can truly save you lots of time when searching for other sources!

An awesome resource at UTSA that is often overlooked is the Rec. Although academics are central to your experience at UTSA, college also should teach us how to live healthy, balanced, and well rounded lives. In the midst of all the stress coming from transitioning into college and learning to use my time wisely, something I came to realize was very important was to not neglect myself and my health, both mental and physical. The Rec has a lot of things typical of any gym, but also offers opportunities for group exercise classes such as yoga or pilates to try something new as well as pickup and intramural sports games to blow off steam, opportunities to go on excursions, and more. So my advice would be to take advantage of this resource (you pay for it anyway), and to take a break from time to time to do something good for your well-being.

One thing that I really struggled with since high school was how to study successfully. However, it is definitely a different story in college. This website along with Ken Bain?s ?What The Best College Students Do? gave me plenty of the best study tips that I use for every class. Something that really helped me in my career choice was the career assessment on sokanu.com. This is a more detailed and personalized test that will give you plenty of options on careers that match your values and interests. There are many ways you can slim down your results and rate certain careers that will reflect you personally. Time management is one of the more important things to master in your first year of college. If you don?t improve on it now, you won?t have the time management skills you need later when you?re even busier. The biggest tip I took away from this article is to take breaks and time off during studying to do something that calms you. For me, this is coloring on my coloring app on my iPad. UTSA one stop is probably the best resource on campus. They helped me file for financial aid, and receive a grant that I wasn't expecting at all. Who knows, I may not even be at this university if it wasn't for them.
